Barry I. Lutzky, formerly the managing partner of Freedman, Fish & Grimaldi, practices in the areas of Estate Planning, Estate Administration, Estate and Trust Taxation, Elder Law, and planning for individuals with disabilities and parents of children with disabilities.

 

Barry's expertise ranges from protecting the assets of the middle class and maintaining their eligibility for governmental benefits, to preserving the wealth of high net worth individuals and families. He specializes in crafting customized solutions to meet the individualized needs of his clients. He regularly deals with issues such as the use of discounting techniques to reduce the size of taxable estates, post mortem tax planning, planning for individuals with significant retirement assets, the use trusts to provide clients with economic security while also effectuating their charitable goals and the implementation of various planning techniques in order for elderly clients and persons with disabilities to maintain their eligibility for governmental benefits. His practice focuses on tax planning for high net worth clients and non-tax planning to effectuate the goals of all clients.

 

Barry graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a BA and MA in 1979, and from George Washington University with a JD with honors in 1982. He is admitted to the Bar in NY and NJ. He is a member of the NYS Bar Association (Trusts and Estates and Elder Law sections), NYC Bar Association, American Bar Association (Real Property and Probate Section), Estate Planning Council of NYC, and the American Heart Association Advisory Council.
